How influencer rates are estimated

Most brand deals start from follower count. A widely used rule of thumb on Instagram is around $10 per 1,000 followers for one feed post, with the final price moving up or down with engagement, niche and what the brand asks for.

Price per post = followers ÷ 1,000 × rate per 1,000 followers

Example: an Instagram account with 50,000 followers at $10 to $25 per 1,000 followers can ask for about $500 to $1,250 per post. With four sponsored posts a month that is $2,000 to $5,000.

What moves the price up or down

Follower count is only the starting point. Brands pay more for a high engagement rate, a niche with buying intent (finance, tech, beauty), an audience in high-spending countries, video content over static posts, usage rights for ads, and exclusivity. Accounts with low engagement or a lot of inactive followers should expect offers below the range.

How much does TikTok pay for views?

TikTok pays creators through its own programs, and the amount per 1,000 views depends on the program, the country and the video. The original Creator Fund was widely reported at around $0.02 to $0.04 per 1,000 views, which is the default in the calculator. Newer programs for videos longer than one minute can pay considerably more per 1,000 qualified views.

Payout = qualified views ÷ 1,000 × payout per 1,000 views

Example: 1,000,000 views a month at $0.02 to $0.04 comes to about $20 to $40. That is why most TikTok creators earn far more from brand deals than from view payouts. Enter the rate from your own TikTok dashboard for an accurate figure.

Frequently asked questions

How much do Instagram influencers make per post?

A common rule of thumb is about $10 per 1,000 followers for one sponsored feed post, so an account with 50,000 followers might charge around $500. Engagement, niche and usage rights can push that well above or below.

How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views?

It depends on the program and country. The original Creator Fund was widely reported at roughly $0.02 to $0.04 per 1,000 views, while newer programs for longer videos can pay more. Check your own TikTok dashboard for your real rate.

How many followers do you need to make money?

There is no fixed minimum for brand deals. Accounts with a few thousand engaged followers in a clear niche already get paid collaborations. Platform payout programs have their own follower and view requirements.

Do brands care more about followers or engagement?

Both, but engagement decides whether a deal is renewed. An account with fewer followers and a strong engagement rate often earns more per follower than a large account with a passive audience.
